Harley-Davidson got it’s humble start when William Harley and Arthur Davidson manufactured the first production motorcycle in 1903. The motorbike was developed in a little shed wooden with the name Harley-Davidson Motor company on the front door and became the racing bike. Harley-Davidson hired their first employee last 1905 when they won the first race. The first motorcylce was sold to the Detroit Police Department in 1908 and it was made use of as a police service. In 1912 H-D started developing it’s 6 story factory and exports it’s first bikes to Japan, the very first time sales were extended outside of the United States.
1914 marks the year H-D officially enters itself into the national racing circuit, and is swiftly known as “The Wrecking Crew” for it’s dominance in the racing industry. In 1917, part of the motorcyles they produced were sold the military and was used as military and civilian bikes.

Except for the Indian Motorcyle Company, most of the competitors of Harley-Davidson got lost. In 1953, there were only two successful motocrycle companies, the Harley-Davidson and the Indian Motorcycle Company.
As being the world gets into into World War 2, so does Harley get back into Military motorcycle production, and the service school is flipped back up in the military motorcycle service school, often known as the Quartermaster School for military mechanics. During this period the public would not acquire a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.
